1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Democut (“the Service”) at democut.dev, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, free-tier accounts, and paid subscribers.

2. Description of Service

Democut is a software-as-a-service platform that generates demo videos for apps and products from user-provided data and templates. Democut provides cloud-based video rendering, template access, and video hosting for a limited period.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • →Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
  • →Impersonate any person, company, or brand without authorization
  • →Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract proprietary template or rendering logic
  • →Abuse the rendering pipeline (e.g., submitting artificially large or malicious payloads)
  • →Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission
  • →Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

5. Payment Terms

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. All prices are in USD and exclusive of any applicable taxes. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

Render limits reset on your billing anniversary date each month. Unused renders do not roll over. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time paid subscriptions. If you are unsatisfied within 7 days of your first paid charge, contact hello@democut.dev and we will issue a full refund. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable except as required by law.

7. Intellectual Property

Democut and its templates, branding, code, and design are owned by or licensed to Democut and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of the content you upload (screenshots, text, branding). By using the Service, you grant Democut a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of generating your requested videos. We do not claim ownership of your content.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DEMOCUT AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100 USD.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

11. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the Service at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
